What is Psychology?
Psychology is a field in which one studies the science of the mind, body, and behavior. There are numerous subfields of psychology, but a general psychologist works to identify and treat mental health issues. Psychologists differ from psychiatrists in that they do not focus on the health of the physical body itself, but dig deeper into thoughts, emotions, memories, and perceptions of the mind. Psychology itself is a science in which the psychologist makes observations, collects data, and interprets the data, while giving feedback to the patient.

Why visit a psychologist?
Psychologists do not only assess and treat health problems, but they also use their expertise in other ways that reach almost every sphere of human activity. Our psychologist at Lim-Keith Multispecialty Medical Group works hard to diagnose and treat mental disorders as well as serve a therapeutic role as well. We will work with you to help understand and analyze a problem, whether you are experiencing or have experienced a phobia, an eating disorder, a learning disability, a tragic event, excess anxiety, brain injury, depression, or any other social or mental problems.

What kind of treatment can be expected from a psychologist?
Our expert psychologists offer a variety of different psychoanalytic therapies, which will enable the psychologist to better understand the problem and the measures that need to be taken in order to overcome the situation by simply listening to the patient. Psychologists at Lim-Keith Multispecialty Medical Group have also found cognitive-behavioral therapy to be successful, which aims at working with the patient to change thought patterns and slowly overcome a specific fear or barrier.
