Richard Schachter, Ph.D.

	Dr. Richard Schachter joined Lim-Keith Multispecialty Medical Clinic in March of 2003.
	Born in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Schachter received his Bachelor Degree at the Sir George Williams University in Montreal. His further studies earned him a Degree in Medical Social Work in 1974 and his Ph. D. in 1979 from Temple University.
	Dr. Schachter believes in getting involved and giving back to the community. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Research Alliance and was involved on numerous IRB Board. He is an active Board member of “Aid for AIDS”, an organization that gives direct financial aid to people with AIDS, and families of people with AIDS.
	He carries on the mission of Lim-Keith by healing the “whole person”. In his 20 years of practicing in the Los Angeles area, Dr. Schachter believes that individuals who actively seek help, or who are involved in therapy are usually “healthier people”. They are proactive and want to insure that their lives are working optimally for them. These individuals want to avoid crisis and solve problems; they place great value on personal growth.
	Dr. Schachter has given lectures at various AIDS conferences, such as “Psychological issues of HIV” and Depression and Anxiety in HIV”.
	A Marriage and Family Counselor, Dr. Schachter believes in building a strong individual foundation on which to build relationships
